Elva is Bondi’s local Italian restaurant and wine bar. We make our pasta fresh by hand every day, and serve up delicious bar snacks, classic cocktails and a range of Italian and natural wines. Come for a drink at the bar and stay for dinner.
Named after Bondi local Elva Tesoriero, who ran a fruit shop with her family at the site in the 1950s, Elva opened its doors in 2018. The owner of Sydney pizzeria Vacanza, Nick Gilbert saw the opportunity to establish a new Italian restaurant and wine bar, joining the buzzing Bondi Road food precinct and local community.
Elva’s menu is a mix of local favourites and chef’s specials driven market availability. The food at Elva is inspired by traditional modern Italian cooking techniques, using fresh local produce and top quality ingredients from around the world (like black truffles from Italy). Elva’s carbonara is a Roman classic - made with guanciale (pork cheek), egg, pecorino romano, and black pepper.
The wine list at Elva brings together the best Italian wines and Australian favourites, featuring natural and local wines. Enjoy classic Italian cocktails and aperitif, while the salumi is sliced right in front of you at the bar, served with decadent cheeses from the deli.
